Having served as a space to impress royal guests to the electors of the Holy Roman Empire, the the King’s Hall in Heidelberg Castle is a fittingly exclusive location The saloon already served the electors for representation purpose an builds the kick-off for the Baltic nations Kommers.

Kommers of the members of the sorrorities 7.00 p.m., Sorority Karlsruhensia, Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage 52

The members of the sororities meet at the house of the corporation Karlsruhensia, go afterwards to the restaurant Schnookeloch and will join in the Königssaal after their official festivities.

Ladies’ evening 7.00 p.m., University square

All other participating Ladies will meet at 7.00 p.m. at the university square for a guided tour through the historical Heidelberg. Dinner takes place at 8.30 p.m. at the restaurant Zum Güldenen Schaf located at Hauptstrasse 115.

The ladies will join after the official part of the Kommers at the Königssaal in the Heidelberg castle.

Church service 10.00 a.m., market square

Rising out of the old town, the Church of the Holy Spirit (Heiliggeist-Kirche) is the largest and most important place of worship in Heidelberg – and is considered to be a truly unique ecclesiastical structure of the very highest artistic order. Here, we will hold an ecumenical service.

It is currently planned for participants in to start at the Church and process across the Marketplace and Cornmarket up to the Heidelberg funicular railway; here, participants will be able to continue on foot up to the castle or take the railway car.

Ceremonial act 12.30 p.m., Schlosshof 1, Ottheinrichsbau

Number of participants is restricted

The ceremony will take place in the castle’s Ottheinrichbau, one of earliest – and most beautiful – palaces of the German Renaissance. Sculptures adorn its façade while, inside, its sumptuous décor bears witness to its historic importance. Speeches will be delivered by high-ranking representatives of the nations and the city of Heidelberg; we have sent invitations and received several positive replies.

To the Ottheinrichsbau

Meeting of the seniors 4.30 p.m., until 5.30 p.m. at latest, Schlosshof 1, Ottheinrichsbau

Meeting of the seniors of all participating corporations.

Europe ball 8.00 p.m., Molkenkurweg

The ball will take place at Schlosshotel Molkenkur, up above the castle, From there, fascinating views over the city on the Neckar are possible. Dance music appropriate to the festive setting will be provided.

River cruise 10.30 a.m. Entry, Pier Kongresshaus

To provide restorative morning sustenance following the evening’s enjoyment, we have booked a river cruise boat. with a typical ‘morning after’ breakfast of white sausages (Weißwürste); the cruise will be scheduled to leave participants ample time to begin their return journey in the afternoon.

The boat will depart at 11.00 a.m. and return to the Kongresshaus pier at 2.00 p.m.
